The Secret To Driving Change
There are gurus, workshops and books all focused on the subject of change. Just know that there is no silver bullet. There is no magic wand.
But there is a secret to driving change in your organization – it’s called Conversation.
Successful entrepreneurs know that change is more a destination than a reaction. It is a new target that due to circumstances you must drive towards.
“The market now wants this new produce or service and therefore you must now _____.”
“A new competitor requires that you _____.”
Whatever you fill in that blank with is now your destination and forms the basis for your ongoing internal conversations. So once identified, your job as leader is to monitor the conversations taking place.
Are they focused on making the future destination happen? Or, are they lamenting the death of the old way?
Are you talking about how to get to the new destination daily, weekly, and monthly or did you hold one meeting and let things unfold on their own?
Remember, speed of the leader – speed of the pack. What you talk about or allow others to talk about is going to drive the direction of your business.
Therefore, if you’re struggling with ‘change’ check your conversations.
