I’ve always liked that quote because it speaks to a belief system – a philosophy. Today everything is connected and success in business depends on the strength of those connections.

If you’re in business solely to make money with no concrete philosophy as to how, then you’ll be nothing more than a feather in the winds of the marketplace. You’ll be blown about and not have the foundation it takes to make it through the tough times.

A solid philosophy as to who you are and how you do business defines who you connect your wagon to. Therefore, success demands that your connections, i.e. network and partnerships share your philosophy of business and more importantly, that you share theirs.

So if you’re struggling, you may want to check those connections.
